San Carlos

Post by SteveJ »

Has anyone experienced the adventure of San Carlos in Baja? The Baja Guide in the destination section appears to still be trying to keep this a secret spot. I am thinking of some wave sailing with Solo Sports soon.

I'm very envious. That was/is one trip I've always wanted to do. The waves are supposed to be the cleanest and most user friendly out there. The Solo Sports gig is top notch. They pamper you the whole way. I think they have a website...maybe you've seen it. I think if I remember right the best time is May.

If you go, please give us an update upon your return and we can post it in Destinations.

Awesome!!
Every time I see something about San Carlos I just ache to go there. Solo Sports looks like the way to go to me also. I just don't think my wife would go for anything more rugged than Vela in Los Barilles though and I haven't been able to talk her into me going by myself.
Vela offers a great package with nice mt.bikes and kayaks for if the wind doesn't blow (a real good chance).
The gulf side of Baja was tons of fun but they just don't have San Carlos's breaking waves that I am dying to try.
