Heading to Mille Lacs

Post by Pete »

Jim & I are going to bust out the "dinky" kites on Mille Lacs today. We'll probably kite from a spot just north of Hunters although we may go to Isaty's? Departing Rochester no later than 8am. If you have any insight for us give a call.

We were on Mille Lacs yesterday. The surface conditions are not great. It is snow and ice mixed. Skis worked pretty well but snowboards looked less fun.

I heard Duluth got 8 inches. You might consider staying on 35 and head further to the NE. Even Sturgeon might be better which is just off 35.

Unless of course Mille Lacs got more snow overnight.

I had good luck on Fish lake in Duluth awhile ago. Similar conditions as well...things melted down here but they had new fresh snow in the north.
