Alfie and I were Windsurfing, and Kiting today at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moine's....... wind's 15 to 20, Water temp, 42 Degrees...... Air around 60.......... Spring is Almost Here....... Kiting and Windsurfing...... Are for this Year..... :wink:

Larry- for how many times you guys have been up here lately...I think we are going to shorten our trip to Padre and make it Des Moines instead!!

We would love to have you here in Des Moine's......
Our Windsurfing Group also has A Trip planned to Corpus.
We plan to Camp on the Lagona at Bird Island, March 19th to the 25th....... Even though we are usually Sailing here By then..... It is Great to get the Warm Steady Wind's, and the nice temp's, To Brush up on our Skill's for the upcoming Season.....
I have had several Chance's to sail the 9.5 Frenzy, it has a very nice feel, work's as my Trainner in 10 Mph Wind's...... Beleave it or Not, I am looking forward to next winter allready......

Larry,

Glad to hear you made it out down in Des Moines. I actually had my drysuit on and laying out my lines and ended up deciding the situation was not safe where there was open water. So, I put my skis on and had a fast ice session in shorts. I was going for both ice and water in the same day, but common sense got the best of me. Has anyone done ice/snow and water the same day?

We had another great Day Windsurfing & Kiting today..... 5.0 Sail, 70 Degree's air, 45 Degree Water..... 25 to 30 Mph Wind's..... 28Mph Gps....

Okoboji/Spirit will not be ready this weekend. I'm guessing Des Moines is the going to be the closest to MSP. I'm working in Clear Lake Wednesday and I'll report if it looks promissing.

Des Moines has open water on Big Creek and maybe even Saylorville by now. Sunday was an epic day with ice disappearing throughout the day. 71 degrees and 25-35mph winds. I had a great time on my 9m kite. What a way to start the season!! :D

Nice streight shot South..... Nice drive...... and lot's of Fun.....
We should Be open after today both at Big Creek and at Saylorville.....
We sailed Big Creek Yesterday, and the whole north 1/2 where we sail was all open when we went home.....
Saylorville was breaking up, and after 35 mph N.W. wind's all day today..... is probably all open too........
Love to have any and all that want to head this way to Sail.... or Kite..... Just let us know when, we will be happy to show you around....
