I am sure there are a lot of threads out there like this but I will ask anyways.
I would like to get into snowkiting sometime, and I am interested in finding out more about it. I have no kiting experience at all, so I was thinking maybe getting a training kite and just learning it from the ground up. Can anyone give me some pointers?

Jacek,
Welcome to kite addiction!!
Lessons are a great way to get started and depending on your location instructors might be readily available. Lessons are great because you get years and years of experience all condensed into a couple hours or so. If you need help getting hooked up with some of the best instructors in the state...give us a call. We have some up in the North Central part of the state...If you are located in the metro, I just met and was re-acquainted with some of the best in the business...If you need trainer kites or other equipment as you progress, we can help you there too. Also there is Larry at Scuba Center that is located in the Minneapolis Metro for kite equipment.

It's all about the RIDE!!
I agree with Jason 100%. Taking a lesson is the best way to ensure you begin this sport in a safe, confident manner. We use our gear, so you get hands on experience with many different types of kites.
Some people go the trainer kiter/teach yourself route and it can work if you're in a pinch. The only downside is once you fly the trainer kite for an hour or two you're done with it. If you go this route I highly recommend buying as many of the "how to" videos as you can. There are significant dangers that you need to be aware of, and knowing safe riding practices is your only defense.

Or if you are on the northern end of the cities or further north, hook up with Jason's crew. We are all commited to helping you get into this sport.
Also check out the Kitefreeze this weekend. All of our instructors, Jason, and Larry will be on hand to answer questions, give you a taste of the power in a kite, and show you the newest gear. There should be a good show as well.
