Re: A SHOUT OUT TO LAURA MAHER & RANDY JOHNSON
TO CLARIFY: We were reminiscing about the Worthington WindFest when a half-time show of kiters were to introduce many of us to the sport. Someone put her kite in a tree. Another landed on the rocks by shore. Other than that... "Good show!" Always fun to talk about, "...back ...

Re: A SHOUT OUT TO LAURA MAHER & RANDY JOHNSON
YUP, Alot of big personalities over the years. Talking w/Jase last week about Dimitri M, and he said, "Everyone I have met in this sport is a character." Except you, Brian. Maybe he's right.

A SHOUT OUT TO LAURA MAHER & RANDY JOHNSON
LAST NIGHT I REMEMBERED! The skilled windsurfer & pioneer kiter I was trying to recall was VOITA! How could I forget. Someone should write a book on that guy alone, not to mention the rest of you characters!

Re: OOPS, FORGOT STUFF @ RAMSEY.
:D THANK YOU! I was @ Ramsey & talking with a friend, when up walk a father & son duo with my kite bag & pump in hand. The son is a newby kiter & dad is providing help from shore. They graciously declined my offer of a reward. Apparently dad has been featured on "The Current&quo...

GOT OUT YESTERDAY! I was on my Taboo 17. It was between almost flat water & verging on "walleye chop." I had to wait for a gust to self launch. but was able to keep it aloft after that. I only went alone due to an audience of sunbathers, besides windfix wants and having the cloud (not ...

Re: Help with T3 below the bar depower
CHICKEN LOOP originated from the pioneer 2-line kiters who thought safety features of any kind were for sissies. Today the sport has evolved. Now we think that de-power is for girls. Tie a knot in that thing , and be a MAN, d@^^^^it! That IS a joke. Please don't make me explain the punch-line. :mrgr...

OOPS, FORGOT STUFF @ RAMSEY.
PUMPED UP WITH MY RE-CHARGEABLE YESTERDAY, but it wasn't in my car today. I think I left it on the grass inside a blue Waroo kitebag. I was warned that my memory would only get better with age, and this proves them right. Share a Surley with me as a reward, for that other stuff, I'll meet you in Sea...

Re: Blade 17M kite demo
I am not certified, but Pam sez I'm certifiable. The only 17's I have flown were all BEST products. The BFK (another politically incorrect name) a 5th line c-kite...scary lack of de-power. The Waroo 17 too heavy, and also slow turning, & now the Taboo 17, equally slow. I have been on the pond wi...

STOPPED BY ON MY WAY HOME. The fishers were out in force. Traffic Jams @ the ramps. It would have been rideable, but with no wing-kiter & sunless cold, bleak skies decided the turnabout for home. Big crowd @ Ramsey & alot closer to friends' hot tubs. Even Dr. Anne was killing it. JimBo's in ...

Re: How do you handle the mother ( superior ) on a BIG day ?
You can also try WI Pt.over in Superior. Head towards Bayfield, but take a left on "Mocassin Mike Road" on the E.side of town & follow it to the water. This will get you up into side-shore waves when it is onshore at Prk.Pt. DO NOT go alone. Jeff got most of his entire quiver ripped of...

KEV O & I CHECKED OUT RAMSEY AROUND 3. The puffs looked inviting, but the lulls off putting. Got spoiled by that Nukin day @ d'wac.
Hoping for some nice blowage between the storms, hail & lightning. Make sure your lines are the shortest on the beach & leave your tin-foil hat at home.

Thanks for the clarification. Hope to make it! Just my luck, I'm on call this w.e, but hope to bring along some freebees, including some rare mistral thruster, I say, THRUSTER FINS, my boy. As Foghorn put it, reserved for the Mistral purist. I plan to pack my warped old cat gut guitar, for unlimited...

Re: Gear Auction
WILL WE BE ABLE TO SET A MINIMUM PRICE? Are you sticking with the "Auction Format?" Unlike "Storage Wars," I don't want my $200 kite going for cents on the dollar, for example. Looks like your neighbor's indoor space may come in handy if we can't ride anyway. Won't an auction wit...

EAST-SIDE RIDERS lit up WildWood Bay! :D The usual suspects were involved. I got to trial my "new" aquisitions: a 9m Caution, & a Mako. Shoulda rigged a bigger kite for the Mako, but the 9 worked fine with the Jumbo Underground. My O-Neil semi-dry kept it comfy with long johns beneath,...
