That was quite the Dangle-boarding session! Best conditions of the summer for me so far.

Re: Lighting the Fuse

The brief time I've been riding it, I find it's best for: 1. Big swell conditions - strong westerly days at Malmo or the Wac. This is where it really shines. It's opens up a totally different style and approach to riding those knee-deep or higher days when it's crankin'. The twin tip is still fun, t...

Re: Bonus gift Great wind today

Oh, that was good, better than Friday even. I love when it's light, but strong enough for the big kites. Everything thing is so much floatier and smoother. Plenty of time to relax, no need to worry about getting worked. Excellent conditions today.

Re: Voluntary Kiting Ban at Ramsey Beach on Weekends

The boat launch at Ramsey was as busy as the beach was Sunday (5/30). The beach at Rutherford is real nice with the low water: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3651/3587171903_42b060a183.jpg And a couple more for good measure... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3312/3587982812_0370939c64.jpg http://farm...

Re: South Padre Island Surfari 2009

Here's a short vid from Tuesday afternoon. Big kite flat water cruisin' on a sunny & gentle SSE. I've got more footy to post up, just need a little time to put some more together.

Re: South Padre Island Surfari 2009

How was the surf side thursday afternoon after we left? Wish I was still down there for sure.

Let's see some of those photos from wednesday's throw down too, quit holding out on us! Photo-a-day...

I'll try to pull together an edit of my kite-cam footage sometime this weekend and post it up.

Re: Why do we ride the wind?

It's a perfect storm of many things: - The Adrenaline Rush - The complete mental concentration it takes - The physical input needed from the entire body - Yet the relaxing aspects mentally and physically at the same time - The "pure" connection to Mother Nature (no gears, motors, gas, etc)...

Re: Night session. Moday 12-Jan

Twas gooood.

Bjorn and I got a nice session in from 8 to 10pm. Had the moon lighting us and the lake up real good. Lots of shadows, contour, and details. Moon-lit snow kite sessions are always some of the best!

I was thinking of maybe hitting up Medicine after dark. Kinda depends on how the drive home goes and how nasty it gets this evening.

Re: Tuesday 12/8 AM session?

Ice was deeper than my ice screw (7"). Snow ranged from 0.5" to 5" drifted. Average was 2" or so. I'd estimate about 50-60% bonded, so you really had to follow the drift lines and mind your edges on the thinner spots. Snow cover was more consistent around the shorelines, patchier...

Re: Best Bularoo Slow Leak

Jeff, The below text is off the Best forum. It might give you someplace to start if you are still battling the leak. guys here's the process i'd go through to fix an EZ. 1. Check the main LE deflate valve, we have seen a few that have a little ring of mould flashing on the inside of the valve. If yo...

Re: Which Helmets are best?

You guys are all crazy!! 20 years on one helmet!?!? The styrofoam used in the average sports helmet can only do it's job properly for roughly 2 years. After that, dry rot starts to set in and the integrity of the foam to resist impact is compromised. That's what they tell us in the bike industry. Ha...
