Re: Monday at Waconia
Diego's 86L board was too small for the rescue. I rode my 102L and switched boards with him. He had Tom grabbing the back foot strap and with the extra flotation of the 102L he was able to sail back to sallow waters. A few minutes after that we were all riding overpowered on 80ish liter boards and 5...

Ok then. I'm sold. Time to ditch the sailboard and rush to buy a kite.

Re: St. Mary's Sunday? & Monday!
Another good session. Diego and I arrived just in time to watch the guys having a blast with their kites powered by a nice N-NW breeze. 2 1/2 hours of well powered 5.5 meter sail and lots of rolling swells to play with.

Re: St. Mary's Sunday?
[quote="Diego"] ~5:30 (and after Luiz decided to rig up from the 6.0 to a 6.8 ) the wind picked up and the 5.8 was just perfect.
Yeap, I should have kept the 6.0.
Diego - I'll be there tomorrow around 5PM

Any reports on St. Croix?
I heard that last week there were still big chunks of floating ice in front of the Hudson marina. Any updates? Thanks.

Re: Clear Lake, Iowa conditions
Best season opening session ever. Fully powered on a 5.0, warm breeze, very easy flat water sailing. Had to watch out for drifting ice(bergs!) here and there. Wondering now how long it will be before we can get wet again... Good to see a hand full of guys out there.

Re: Washington saturday's report/ Virgin Kite sesh
Jim / Diego,
Thank you so much for letting me borrow your kit. Nothing like the long runs fully powered on Washington. Hope I'll be able to join you at the Gathering next Saturday.

A Very Colorful Sunday
I am not a kiter but I have to say you guys make the beach and the sky a lot more beautiful and fun. Yesterday was a day to remember at Brouwersdam (the beach I sail at south Netherlands) with what seemed to be more than 300 kites out on the water under a gorgeous sunny sky. Lot's of windsurfers too...

Re: Cabarete near death experience!
I should be returning to MN this summer for good. Thinking end of June / early July. I'll miss it here. Scored more than 10 sessions this year so far. Most of them on a 83L board and 4.5-5.5. Got punished several times in the shore-break but nothing like your experience in Cabarete. We all learn fro...

I found this on a surf forum. Thought some of you guys would relate to it. ------------ Windsurfing is not just a sport, nor is it just a pass-time or something to do on a weekend, not to me anyway. It's a partnership between man and the power of the elements, a relationship with the wind and the wa...

Windsurfing - Harness Quick Release
Has anyone used a quick release system on a windsurfing spreader bar? Are they safety devices or purely meant to make it easier to get in/out the harness? My wife is ready to start using a harness this summer. But I am VERY concerned with the "catapulted + trapped under the sail while still hoo...

Congratulations to Tighe for the oustanding interview to the article "Brothers in the Wind" - Windsurfing Mag May 07. A great example all who enjoy the wind and the water should follow.

When you get to St. Malo stop by (or call) the local windsurf shop -> Magic Surf 02-98420342. They can give you advices on sites to go according to the weather conditions. There's also a website (in French): http://www.magicsurf.fr I don't know this shop and have no idea if they rent gear or give le...

I am new to Europe and have been to the St. Malo region just recently. I had no luck with the weather... stormy, side/off shore winds with unbelievable strong currents and shore break. I had my gear with me and I did not see any rental shops around. Everyone seems to be hauling their own gear. Most ...
