Re: Looks like some nice winds Thurs - Sunday

I'm going to checkout Pepin today. I've never sailed it, but it looks like the wind is lining up and I'm in the area. Any advice from people with experience on it?

Re: Wow

I can second the reco for Sail LaVie. I've never had a kite repaired there, but they're really capable and will work with you on anything.

Re: Calhoun Ice

I'm planning on heading there tonight around 8 or 9 to enjoy the new snow and the full moon. Hopefully the snow today is going to build up over the ice ridges and not just hide them.

I'll be camping too. Wind or no wind, we'll make it a good time.

Re: Lake Calhoun tonight, Night ride anyone?

I'll definitely be out there tonight. I think I'll make it to the lake around 9pm. I drove by this morning and the entire lake was covered with snow. I think the little flakes that started last night will be a good base for the fluffy stuff that has been falling all day. I saw a few kites on the nor...

Re: Snowboards

The new camber boards are supposed to feel more like a surf/skate board...almost a little skittish underfoot. They're definitely more of a park board and likely pretty soft and flexy, so I'm not sure how they'll hold an edge on icy lake.

Re: Okay who was on Calhoun & TV

Doug, were you out again last night? My friend Matt and I got Calhoun a little after dark and saw two skiiers out; at least one had an Ozone. We launched from the SW side near the dock that is just offshore. I live super close to Calhoun, so I'll be out there evenings when I can. Hope to meet some o...
