Any fix is a good fix, because I go to that page before I go to any other weather forecast sites, even if I'm not kiting. Knowing exactly when it will get cold or start raining is great for knowing if I should take the motorcycle to work or not

When i go test ice depths, I just grab a cordless power drill, and a 1 foot long 1/3rd inch or so drill bit and drill through the ice every 20 feet or so in the area I will be.


Worked great last winter when I was on bush lake, and knew it was safe.

Now that I live on Medicine Lake (on the south end) I plan on kiting as much as possible there.


I've never been on that lake in winter, any dangerous areas in the ice or any other advice?

Man, I'd get one if they had large, I can't keep using a bike helmet on the ice :( But for those of you with smaller noggins, this is a mega deal on helmets.
