Thanks, have a jetski, can get most places on that, so Long Island should be within reach!

Kite spots,Ashland or Chequamegon Bay, in a South wind??

I am going to be in northern WI at the weekend., not far from Ashland or Hayward lakes. Forecast shows a good southerly wind. Does anyone know of kiting spots that work in a S wind? Any launch spots Chequamegon Bay that work in a southerly?

Re: Bryce

To the north and west of the spot on that map there is a finger of land sticking out into the lake. There is a nice beach there ( on the north side)and a sandbar at the end. that is the best kiting spot on walker bay. However you need a boat to get there.

recommendations, midwest family vacation spot with kiting?

Can anyone recommend a lake or lakeside resort in northern MN, WI or UP Michigan, where we will find good kiting but enough other stuff to keep the non-kiters in the family happy on a one-week summer vacation? The resorts around Mille Lacs seem to very fishing-oriented, so perhaps not such fun for n...

Re: Sunday?

We got 6 - 8 9 inches fresh in Rochester. Don't know if they got the same at Cannon. If there is wind on Sunday and snow on the ground, I could go to Cannon.

Re: January kite destinations?

Hey Matt, where specifically would you recommend in the Spirit Lake area? There are a few of us in Rochester MN, and spirit lake is drivable for a day kiting trip.

Re: Has anyone kited in Aruba?

Thanks for the helpful information. Sounds like Aruba not the best place to go. Might stay home and work on the snow kiting skills instead. I emailed one of the schools in Aruba and learned that the restricted hours for kiting no longer apply - you can do it all day. But it sounds like maybe not a g...

Re: Has anyone kited in Aruba?

Thanks Mark, sounds like it was bad the first day and then got better. Perhaps not an ideal spot for my kids; I know my daughter will get frustrated in the gusts. I am still interested in those harness shorts you are selling; perhaps I could come around after work one day?

Has anyone kited in Aruba?

Can anyone give me information on kiting in Aruba? My brother and I are thinking of going there this winter. The winds are offshore, which can be problematic when things go wrong - however it seems to be a big kiting destination,so I presume that tourists rely on the kiting schools for rescue servic...

Question for SS experts : safety leash to depower cord

Slingshot recently sent me a replacement bar and lines for my broken T3 bar, but I think the replacement is a T2 bar as it has an above the bar safety leash attachment . That already got my daughter into a dangerous situation after she had to release the chicken loop, that resulted in kite loops . I...

Re: Gorgeous Pepin

I have never ridden there either but would like to. I am told it works well in S or SE, or in a northerly. You have to hike in, or get there by boat or jetski. I would like to go there on my jetski; launch the jetski somewhere north of there in a southerly wind, anchor on the north side of the bar, ...
