Ha ha I remember that kite. That picture was just before you were dragged across the lake, 50% underwater and 50% over the water then right into a beach embankment. Didn't you take out a guys fence? Ahh the good ol' days.

I have been to Sandals in St. Lucia. They had three or four boards from the late '90s and non-monofilm beginner type sails. The guy said they can't afford to get good, new equipment because almost every one that wants to windsurf is brand new and is very hard on it. I got out for a few hours and it ...

That little bit of water freezes fast in the winter and thaws fast in the spring.

My brother and I grew up just south of Fargo and go home to kite a bunch in the winter. My parents live across the road from a bunch of farm fields we ride all the time. Would love to get some other guys out there. Pently of room not a lot of terrain:wink:

I have a veloce 135  I learned to use the harness and footstraps, waterstarts, and how to execute crappy jibes with that board. I would definatly reccommend something in that size range. Still big enough to easily uphaul but small enough to be fun and take in the 20+ winds. I'd go with the Bee...

White Bear w/ SW

Anyone sailing White Bear tomorrow on the SW wind that is brewing. I'd like to get some time on the water but I have limited time. Is Ramsey sailable on a SW or does Bellaire make more sense even though it is off shore? Or is there going to be too many motors on the lake to make it worth while? Any ...

Totally agree.
The loft website has good info if you didn't get enough included with your sail.

Totally agree with Steve on this one. I learned on a old-style mistral longboard while my brother, wife, and dad learned on a wide light air type boards. Took me a year and a half to get in the harness and straps. They were all in the harness and straps after 3-5 sessions. Maybe that says something ...

had a bit of trouble getting the ends of the batons to slide over to the other side of the mast anytime I turned around. I have a couple loft sails and you just need more downhaul. It could be that the mast is not a good fit for the sail but in my experience you just need more downhaul. Pull till y...

Who needs summer? This lake is heated by a power plant and is open 11 months out of the year. I've been to this lake in early April and was fine in a wetsuit. The air temp was 40 but I'd say the water was 55-60F. By July though the water gets pretty nasty. Right SE of Center, ND. http://www.angelfir...
