Re: Water?
So has anyone tossed on a dry suit an went out for a water session in January? sounds crazy, but sometimes I know we are all a little crazy. Im sure it would be a lot more fun to find some good powder some place.

Re: Maui Info?
I'm sitting at HNL right now after a horible flight from MSP waiting for my flight to Molokai. I have my kite gear and there is tons of flat water on Molokai. The only problem is the wind looks like it has shut down. I think the main kiting area on Maui is over on the north side by Kahului. Wind loo...

Re: Traveling with gear
Has anyone ever had a problem with Delta? I have traveled with my NSI golf bag a few times in the past and never have been questioned. When I see thes posts I get a little nervous, heading to HI next week and just expected I could check my gear again.

Re: BLADES, BLACK ICE & BIG SMILES
I was out on Green Lake in Chisago yesterday. Skates first then sharp skis. because it was so warm, the Ice was actually too soft for the skates. The skis worked great! Fun to be back out.

Re: Good wind for newbies
I'll be up at Madline Island for an anual family camping trip and staying at Big Bay. Right now the wind looks great for tomorrow at big bay - ENE at 14 (good for me anyhow). The water in the aposles is a bit warmer than other places in superior. I've swam there about every year we go up. The bay is...

Re: Let's play safe this weekend
Tighe, As a less experienced kiter I have a couple of questions regarding your recommendations: Not knowing all the kiting terminology, I just want to make sure I know what it means to “flag your kite” I assume that means to hold one of the back lines so the kite turns parallel to the wind? Also, wo...

Re: lake onalaska
If you can drive a little bit, Petenwell lake about 1 hour east of Lacross by Necedah is suppose to be good. Good launches and a lot of shallow sandy water.

Re: UNEXPLORED LAUNCHES
I've got a good friend that lives on Coon lake on the south shore just west of the county park. That south shore is really shallow. I was there Sunday to kite, but the wind died about the time I got there. I think the county park would be a good launch for a SW wind. Lots of room. Thats the smaller ...

Re: wireless phone Lakawa browsing toubles
I have a BB curve (8320) too and I can get to most of the links. I just checked again. I am with t-mobile, but that shouldn't make a difference. I drive by Bellair every day going to and from work. I've been hoping to hook up with you guys. We could compare the browser settings to see if there is a ...

If you liked "into thin air" and like mountianeering books - "Touching the Void" by Joe Simpson is a must read.
