Help in Brainerd area

Post by steveb »

I have an old work and windsurfing buddy who's bought a kite and is chomping at the bit to get started learning.
I'm not going to be able to get up north for a couple of weeks, work etc.

Would any of you guys in the Milly/Brainerd area be willing to help me out by giving a newbie some pointers on safety and getting going?.

The guys name is Carl and he's a super nice guy, naturally as you can imagine he's dying to get the kite in the air and get started and I'm telling him " Don't do it" Can any one help before he runs out of patience with me?.
Thanks.

Give Todd Hanson a shout. Not sure if he's too busy with his house, but he'd be a good one to hook up with. Otherwise, maybe Bryce or Jason.

I may be able give him some pointers... I was going to take a few guys from work out to fly a trainer kite sometime this week or next. Or else next time it is somewhat windy... I'll be flying at pelican after work and would be happy to help if he stopped by. What kind of kite does he have and where does he live?

He's also welcome to join Eric , Anna and me at Mille Lacs. I've got a trainer he can use if he hasn't flown a kite before.

Bryce,
Karl bought my 2006 12m Best Waroo last week. He didn't have a bar or harness at that time, but may have these now...He's new to the sport, but not sure how much flight time has either....
