OMG! That's over 500ft of shallow sand for miles according to the satellite pics.

I'm up for checking it out once the snow stops. So maybe November or so.

There is a crew from up north that sails winnie regularly. It is an excellent windsurf spot with shallow sand and nice wind driven swell. The launch is better for windsurfing since there are alot of tall pine trees. There are a few different launch locations dependent of the wind direction. Southerlys to NWesters work good. Its usually very quiet because the waves are too big for boat traffic. The wind comes across nw minnesota so its pretty clean and consistent. Good Luck we will see you out there. Look for three or four people when it is big at Tamarack point. Also Red Lake is better its just a longer drive.
