Leash questions

I recently bought a used kite (05 Diesel) and it didn't come with the leash to attach to the oh shit handle on the steering line (red).

First, does anyone have an extra leash that I could buy from them?

Second, how does it exactly work? Currently, the metal ring on the steering line is larger than the metal ring attached to the handle. I was under the impression that the oh shit leash would be pulled and the metal ring on the steering line would be small enough to fit through the metal ring attached to the handle, in turn, depowering your kite.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Slingshot bungee leash with a QR. The leash attaches to the ring on the Oh Sh$t handle. You can also attach it to the webbing. When you break free from the bar the leash keeps you attached to one line and when all the other lines slacken, it depowers the kite.
