Ok,
Last year i decided to start this crazy sport of kiteboarding. I picked up a kite from a friend of mine and, since i worked so much and had no time for lessons, decided to do the videos and try to teach myself this summer. I spent 30+ hours on Green just flying my beast (20 meter 01 wipika freeair) this summer. I became quite the spectacle both because i was the only kite the locals had ever seen...and since all i really ever did was fly it and not board. So i managed to get up on my board about 2-3 times near the end of the season but i am still having trouble keeping constant power.
Heres the gist of it....i need help and i guess i just have to admit it to myslelf.
I just went and picked up a new slingshot b-four from scubacenter so that i will have some good winter gear at least, but i would be overjoyed if i could tag along with any of you out there some time here at the end of december..begining of jan. and pick up a few pointers. If i can i may try to get a lesson but my school/work scheadule is so hectic that i just dont know if that would work.
I already love it and i barely even can board so any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in uptowm, about 6 blocks from calhoun so that would be the best/easiest for me to get to if anyone else is close at all.
Thanks for any help,
Luke..

luke,
I started a similar way back in 2000, cept my FreeAir was only 8.5m. I am amazed I didn't kill myself. It was a long and humbling road. Obviously I'm gonna suggest a short lesson. An hour is probably all you need. The B4 is a great kite to start on in the winter. We teach 7 days a week so we're pretty flexible.
If that just doesn't work, you're definitely more than welcome to come ride with us. You'll definitely learn a lot ridding with others.
Shoot me an email and I'll put you on our email list: fly@lakawa.com
