* A lot like the DR, wind wise - i.e. on and off again. Any fronts or storms upset the easterly trades, so no weather means good wind.
* Ocean Park, a great beach minutes from the San Juan airport is nice, wide and expansive. Velauno (http://www.velauno.com) gives lessons there, but Real Kiteboarding (http://www.realkiteboarding) is right on the beach. Pedro is the owner and they give lessons and sell gear. They have a chase boat to help on the down winders. Very laid back.
* They say that the southern coast has much better and more consistent wind. Haven't tried it.
* The northwest corner has a couple beaches (one is called 'Shacks') which are supposed to have some pretty radical breaks (complete with sharp coral) for you superstars!

Went to San Juan a couple of weeks ago, stayed for a week. Good conditions for windsurfing the first three full days I was there. Stayed at the Tres Palmas, right across the street from the beach in Ocean Park. Rented from Velauno (http://www.velauno.com). The folks at Velauno treated me right.
