Anyone know what would happen if you blew up your kite with carbon dioxide?

A couple of years ago we tried to blow up 300 balloons with carbon dioxide to make balloon arches. Thinking we were really smart we returned to work only to find the air went flat by morning. All balloons were laying on the floor. We even used a product that should have made the balloons stay inflated longer. I think your air volume would decrease in a short period of time.

Are you thinking of quick inflating the kite using a cartridge or just thinking it would be a fun place to store some co2?

How about using helium to make for effortless relaunches. You would have to fly it down to the ground.

I don't think helium is quite light enough for that but it sure would be cool.

What about hydrogen! that is even lighter. Just don't hindenburg it...

I think you could make a kite that was as light as air. The tubes would just have to be much bigger.... but it would make for a interesting experiment.

Thanks guys.
O.K. scratch the co2. Now I'm thinking of taking a huge expansion tank off the boiler at work and bolting it in my truck! Then if I could pressurize it with the AC compressor on the engine...

Sweet. Brians full service mobile kite filling and weather station.

"I topped off your number 3 bladder and noticed your right side, main line is a bit frayed. You should think about changing that one. I think the wind should be coming up in about a half an hour. That'll be one cold beer please."
