Is anyone up for an afternoon session at the Bear?

I would like to be there by 3:00. I have not been out on WBL so if someone knows the ice thickness that would be grand.

Chris, Chance of snow tonight( hoho) and 15 to 25 from the North tomorrow. I have Friday off so if it happens I plan to spend most of the day out on the lake.
I think Christian will be coming out to play as well.
I'll post if the lake surface seems usable after I check it Friday morning.

I have been out several times at WBL with sharp skis. I think Friday is still going to be sloppy given the forecast temps, but Saturday at Bellaire should be good.

Here are some pictures of Sunday 12/26 at Ramsey Beach White Bear Lake.

John Zdechlik is in the photos with his 25M Wipika.
Me on my 20M X3.
The wind was light and you had to skate hard to get your kite flying.
But once you built up some apparent wind the kite would easily stay in the air with a nice consistent pull.
The minimal drag of ice skates really helped minimize fluctuations in the power of the light wind.
There was just a dusting of snow that fell Christmas morning on the perfect ice.
Cruising from one side of the bay to the other was a piece of cake.
No speed records were set but cruising on such smooth ice was great.
Skates are a little tricky, especially when they cut kite lines so quick.
Lots of dodging ice fishermen and their tents too.
One guy drove his full size dodge ram out into the middle of the bay.
The ice was cracking the whole way under the truck.
I dropped my kite and was ready to make a skate for it if the truck went thru the ice.
Luckily the ice held.
We kited until the sun set, and the moon rose.
The wind shut off completely and we had to skate the kites back to shore.
