Ramsey Crust

Post by Mike W »

Should be some nice crusty conditions at Ramsey today. I plan to be there by later this morning. Would love some company.

I may go soon. Looks like the wind may drop off more quickly than I expected.

Pete and I had a great time at Ramsey beach on Saturday and Sunday! The ice was the smoothest I've ever seen! Still some sketchy spots, though. One ice skater fell through somewhere over on the eastern side of that bay, but he had pickaxes on him and only got wet up to his knees.

Saturday was on a 5 m2, Sunday was on a 25 m2. It was awesome!

Broke a skate and I hurt all over.

The ice has never been so smooth !!!!!
Now I assume it is all gone.

I assume Ramsey is the beach at WBL
Had both Sat/Sun kiting at that beach (3.5M Sat, 25M Sun)

Never went too far out like a couple other folks on kites

On Sunday an ice skater went thru the ice aways out the island
and got out pretty quick, but the ice is still a concern for me.

The ice thickness looked pretty good on Sunday say 4+ inches
close to shore.
