My wife and I recently spent a week in Florida. I took my slingshot B-3 along to fly on the Beach. Glad I did because I had a great time flying it on the beach in 10-20 MPH winds several days.
Had a problem hand carrying it on the plane however. As we were leaving Florida, I put it through the xray machine and had quite a hassle because of the bar. I went through 3 superivisors before they agreed to allow me to take it on the plane. The last superivisor said she was the final decision. I either left it with her or took it with me, it was up to her. I did have a kite magazine with me that Tighe had given me at the swap meet last summer to show what the bar was for.
I was abe to take it but was told I probably wouldn't be able to again. Apparently the bar could becone a weapon.
Just a heads up to anyone flying with a kite. Put the bar in your checked luggage.
