Madeline Island

With total disregard for the wind forecast last week, I took my gear with me to Madeline Island this past weekend and got skunked. The winds basically were right in line with all the forecasts - light.

The place I stayed was on a great stretch of beach with a sandbar about 150 yards out from the beach. I tried sailing, but the winds were sub-15 mph. Too bad, south facing beach and the winds were either SE or SW, so direction was great, but not enough oomph. Oh well. It's going to blow in the Gorge this coming weekend, right?
