Pete, where were you?

Post by Chris Brown »

Wed. was the biggest S. wind day I've experienced on Pepin. From 2PM on it was full on 3.5 M and steady. Large Rowena like swell in the channel.. Great to be in warm water and air with such a strong wind. :D

Thoughts of Pepin did cross my mind......we need a way to find out what Pepin's doing on days like Wed. I'm a little gun shy from attempting to sail the suck-hole this past spring. Did you sail from the rest stop?

The roadside rest area north of Hok-sa-la. There is a wind line like most other sites but once your in in the channel it can crank.

Dammit Chris, I was feeling pretty good about Wednesday. Now I feel like I missed it. 3.5? Have you been hitting the nitrous oxide again!

Sailing while gassed

Post by Chris Brown »

N20 and sailing? Could add a whole new dimension to sailing. I've never been a fan of south winds and thats what made wed. more remarkable. I won't be betting on it happening again for a long while. It's just comfortable sailing so close to home.Call me lucky this time because more often than not it is disappointing.

That's why I went to Cannon. South on Pepin has skunked me too often as well. I am really glad you scored though. Pepin does rock on a south wind, even in 7.0 conditions the swell is present and I wish I could have seen you launching into space on Wednesday. Until next time. Peace.
