Oh yeah, the forecast look pretty sweet for tomorrow, thinking about being out sick.

Mason City
Friday: Snow likely. Increasing clouds, with a high near 23. Wind chill values as low as -10. Breezy, with a south wind between 13 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Des moines
Friday: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Wind chill values as low as -10. Breezy, with a south wind between 11 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Mason City is about 2 hr drive form me. I am going to see if anyone else from here wants to make the trip, would be fun with a "mini kite gathering" on Clear Lake tomorrow.

I am planning on picking up Low boom Larry north of Ames at 12:30, we should be at Clear Lake by 1:30, if anyone else wants a ride from Des Moines I'll be leaving there around 11:30 ish from down town.

Where is a good place to launch at Clear Lake?

Please post here where you will be at and we will come join the fun.

Ride on. It'll be great to see you guys.

Most likely we'll end up on the NE side of the lake. Not that large should be easy to scope out where we are.

I'll have my phone. 651 dot 428 dot 4121

Fun Riding on Clear Lake today. Good to see a bunch of familiar and new faces in a place you don't normally ride at very often.

Thanks for the quick lesson in jumping technique Tighe, I will be working on it hard now. Can't wait for my next session.

Hopefully everyone made it home safe, we hit some black ice on the way back to Des Moines with some cars in the ditch, hopefully it was better travelling north.

Until next time, keep it cool.

Yeah great day. So nice riding in deep snow again.

I discovered how nice kite snowboarding can be. Nothing like carving on a single board.

Great to see you guys from the lower half of Iowa. Cool rendezvous. Larry you looked great rippin it up on your snowboard. You too mr. Norman. Katie was going for it and progressed immensely today, riding toeside, boosting, carving it up...

Good riding with everyone. More soon

Tighe on board!

Post by JRN »

I had never seen Tighe on a board before! He looked smooth as always,
and Randy L. was getting his boarding dialed. Katie blew my mind: Already going toe-side & boosting. I'm still working on the comfort-level thing..I feel weird on a board & better in skis. It was good to meet Uffe (still can't pronounce it) and to see Larry (Lowboom?), Mark J & another Twin Citian, Nick , who braved the icy roads. Apparently Mr. Belden's jump tips work, I'll have to pay more attention next time! :? JN
