44 Square Meters, 2000 Feet Up, Two At A Time!!

Post by AP »

Nik, Zatt, Tim, Jared and I were out on Wayzata bay towing up paragliders today. We could see everything: all of Lake Minnetonka, Wayzata, Long Lake, Minneapolis and even Saint Paul. From 2000 feet up, the views were amazing! With the forecast looking good for the next 24 hrs (light winds), we will be out there again tomorrow. Come on out and have a look, and take a tandem flight, its really awesome.

Wayzata Beach 10am - 4pm...aka, the beach for getting to kite Island.

All I can say is WOW! I got to mtka around noon and they had already done 5 or six tows and by 4 pm we had done 4 more single tows and 4 tandem tows with AP at the helm; extra treat, AP let me fly the thing for a while, super cool. I had the opportunity this summer to hang in WA with AP, his brother Nik and some other paragliders and I of course I am biased because they are my friends, but Alex and Nik are two of the best pilots around. This was independently told to me by at least six other pilots at different launches on different days, so if you get the chance head out and get a ride with AP. You won't be sorry ... with the winds tomorrow (less than five mph) it shouldn't be too hard to tow up to around 3,000 ft. See ya out there!

Maybe I should change Lakawa to Lakpawa, Lakes Area Kiting, Paragliding, and Windsurfing Advisory. It sounds sort of cool...sort of like Lake Power. I obviously have no clue about Paragliding, so if anyone considered this a good idea, the Peterson Bros. would need to create that end of the site. I was suggesting it sort of tongue and cheek.

I can't wait to get the opportunity to go up. From everything I've heard it sounds incredible.
