Repairing a hole on a sail??

Post by collinwood »

I had a great time out on Waconia the other day, but when I got back in I realized that my mast base extension rubbed a hole into my sail. Anyone have any tips on how to fix it or something to put around my mast base extension to avoid it from happening again?

Thanks

If it's a hole in the luff sleeve as long as it's not big I wouldn't worry. I suppose not big would be anything less than two inches. If you want it fixed Jeff Adamski ( thru the house) would stitch in a new piece of cloth for you.It shouldn't effect the sail performance.
I probably should say if you think your base will keep hanging up on the spot and maybe make it bigger it may be worth having it fixed.
