New kiter Question.

I just moved to the area and I'm a beginner kiter. Is it recommended that I wear a life vest in the intitial stages of kiting? I'm a fairly good swimmer and I'll be wearing a 4/3 steamer suit.

Also, would anyone be willing to give me some pointers later on next week, weather permitting..?

Life jackets are always a good idea. In a 4/3 you'll have decent float but consider a jacket.

Check here to see where people are headed. Waconia usually has a few kiters as soon as the wind reaches 14+ mph. I'd be more than willing to give you some pointers as would most any of the rest of the tribe.
