Wide \Windsurfing/Wide Sailboard

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

Well, here we are.....waiting for Spring....Ice out.....unless you like Sailing on Ice.

I want to promote "WIDE BOARD SAILING!!!! for the open water season of 2025....

I just think it's SO easy to forget how WIDE boards can really make ALL the difference in order to be planning instead of slogging/Sailing.

It's just a Natural fact...that we have a reduction oF Windspeed most of the year now. Even in Windy SW Minnesota most late Spring, Summer and early fall the highest wind speed is around 15 mph. If Lucky,,,we'll get two or three High wind days each month of Summer. That 85 liter board
is just sItting on the wall WAITING to be used! SO,,,with wide boards (100 cm to 75 cm wide) you can STILL have a good planning time in 15 mph.
But nothing narrower.

And really, if you're at the beach with the wide boards, you're ready to teach newbies the "art and Pleasure" of windsurfing/sailboarding in
the lower speeds (10 mph and below). But when the wind comes up to 12ish mph (with that jumbo sail, 9.5 or greater) you just say to the "newbies", "Sailing class is over (it's my turn on the board) and it's time to watch what "hydroplanning" looks like!"

Quetzalcoatl out.
Windsurfing on the Rise, (Especially WIDE WINDSURFING)!
