Some years ago (around 2004), I found myself hydrofoiling inadvertently.
One afternoon I was windsurfing on my Bic 283 Techno (69cm width), 283 long (252 liters)
and I had too big of a fin with a 6.5 sail. The fin was a formula 62cm in length.
As I was planning, I noticed that my board was completely out of the water!! I was planning but only the only
point of contact with the water was my long 62 cm. fin. That too long of fin caused my board to hydrofoil! This was fun,,,until
I tried to turn and the board just wouldn't. It would only go straight.
This is why the Foil (wings on both sides of long fin) to provide more contact with water so that you CAN turn!
Eric out.
I hydrofoiled long befoe hydrofoiling was cool
