Do "Windsports folks" communicate by just texting now?

I think (and this is just my astute observation) that "wind people" tend to communicate
through text messaging now in place of using their vocal cords and making a phone call.

Partly I think there is a "fear factor" involved. When you text message, YOU have complete control
of the message. It's a one way conversation and you await the response It's to say, you don't have to
"think on your feet" like you do when your're having a real conversation.

Oh well, such is the first part of the 21st century.
