Stop the move of boat launch to North Calhoun!

Post by Chummers »

I just called Deb at the Park Board to express my strong desire not to have the boat launch moved to North Calhoun as is currently being considered. The period for public comment is over but final decisions have not yet been made. I encourage you to email and/or call Deb Bartels at the Park Board at:

Deborah Bartels, Registered Landscape Architect
Project Manager – Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
2117 West River Road
Minneapolis MN 55411 -2227
612-230-6438 direct
612-499-9088 cell

Also please call your local Park Board rep!

I still think we need to contact these people, but there is also a meeting that anybody concerned about this should attend. I also find it interesting that although I called Deb and spoke to her on the phone, and Brad Bourn replied to an email, NEITHER OF THEM called my attention to this next meeting. Isn't that a little bit strange?

You can leave comments for the Park Board regarding "improvements" to Lake Calhoun and Harriet here:

Please oppose moving the boat launch to the north side of Calhoun adjacent to the swimming beach!
