Kiteboarding in Fargo?

Kiteboarding in Fargo?
Gonna be up there on Tues / Wed. Looks like for a windy spot, Fargo is pretty devoid of water (?) The closest lakes are actually in Minnie - Ottertail and Lake Lida. Been to Ottertail. Not sailed Lida. Anyone have any advice?
Re: Kiteboarding in Fargo?
I live in Fargo and kite mostly on Ottertail. Lida looks interesting and its a bit closer. If you do go to Lida, mind posting about it?

Mooreton's pond is very fun for flat water! Can launch from any wind direction. Although SE gets a little gusty coming over the overpass.
Not super shallow, so it is usually helpful to have another person launch you and launch from on land and walk in. Or you could launch on the offshore wind side and get super flat water!

We were all tempted to stop at some sort of pond on the way to Miltona last week. Have to do that some time, I bet it IS fun. Not too different than riding behind that island at the Bear.
Tried Lake Lida. No good spot to launch on a south wind, but I made it work. 45 minute session, then I had to keep going. It is shallow an sandy on the north shore at least. Ottertail is still the call.
