Getting close in Duluth!

Post by Stroh »

Not much ice left up here... there is still some shore ice on parkpoint but not much floating ice. we have some STRONG NE wind blowing right now so that might change. Based on my limited views of the satilite immagery I don't think there is much ice out on the lake.

I caught a glance to the harbor on my drive to school today... look like it's 30% open, its open from the Duluth entry to about Herding Island.

Wont be long now... time for my annual dry suit seal replacements. anyone know where to go for seal replacement? I herd Midwest doesn't do repairs any more???

Thanks for the update, Jon. Let us know when the bay is ready for action. Looks tempting from the camera. I have been replacing drysuit seals myself. Some good youtube videos can help guide you along.

I did a quick search and also found some good options for this. Of course they make everything look easy. If you succeed at getting the proper tools and supplies it probably is easy. Hope this helps:

thanks for the advise mike! I have tried to do replacements myself but they never seem to hold up, I would also like to get my suit pressure tested for leaks...

The mother showed her Rage today, I caught a quick glance at the waves as I drove by today... they were friken MASSIVE! had to be 15+ foot rollers out there cant imagine what they looked like as they broke!

I'm getting anxious! might be time for another bad experience at the lester!!
