monday sessions.....
Want to stay close to home but last time I was on Calhoun with a NE/NW the wind was really dirty. I was wondering about Lake Harriet instead, give the wind a little area to build up coming in from Calhoun. Anyone ridden Lake Harriet from a NE?
I'll check after I snowblow and shovel my way to the lakes.
Hope to see some riders shredding.
Later on, George

Tonka - probably Sailor's World. Don't think that you're going to do much better on Harriet with the strong and gusty winds.
If you're the guy I saw on Calhoun yesterday afternoon, you got some cojones! It was nukin! My general rule of thumb is that if it's blowing over 15 knots, I tend to stay off of the City lakes. It gets a little too gusty for me. I prefer the cleaner winds if they're strong.
You'll have a lot more fun on a wide open space like Tonka if you can make the drive.

Can anyone offer an update on the snow conditions on White Bear Lake or Lake Minnetonka? Drove out to White Bear Lake yesterday but it was bare ice, is this still the case? Ended up kiting at Lake Calhoun yesterday afternoon during the nukin winds, the lake has good snow cover.

Nice, are trucks still going on at that access? Looking for some post work sessions this week!
Re: monday sessions.....
I saw some vehicles going off and on there today....Looked like it was wet though but doable. Some good riding out there today.. Pretty much white out conditions all day. Nice amount of snow with an icy crust only a few bare spots here and there. Was getting flufflier as the day went on too.

FYI
There's a small hole at the access at Sailor's World. I got out early on Monday and it looked as though the hole was fresh so I parked at the post office and walked out. By the time I left it was about three feet long (from the other cars that drove over it). It's right at the shore and only in about a foot of water, but I've seen what a foot of water can do when a car goes through - beware.
