Lake Swede Report

Post by nowak046 »

Lake Swede was a good session today. Walked in from the north DNR landing. About 8-10 kitters out there today.

Plenty of Ice. About 7-8 inches of fluffy snow, no slush.
Needs a good base yet, it was pretty easy to push away all the snow and loose an edge on the ice. Still easy to cut upwind though. Pretty fun time.

Hope to make it out there tomorrow if the wind is up.

Props to Eric for helping me set up my bar on my 14m T3 to a 1:1. Made a world of difference.

Kevin,
Was a fun session today. I am planning to head out there again tomorrow and it sounds like Nathan and some of my buddies are going to show too. Should be fun if the wind comes through....Should be similar to today I think.
HOpefully the snow will bond with the ice a little bit tonight with this cold weather......Can't wait to hit it up....saw plenty of untouched powder out there to be shredded!!
Sounds like we can adjust your bridle on the kite too for when the bar is set to the 1:1 setting. This will help with steerage too. I think that kite is way more responsive and playful in the 1:1 mode setting.
Glad I could help.
Hopefully see you out there Sunday.

Thanks for posting Kevin. Much better drive than Washington.

I like hearing about switching your kite to 1:1 too. It makes a lot of sense to do this since the response time is increased. Of all the T3's I've owned I have never gotten on board for switching away from 2:1. If you go out tomorrow maybe I can peel away too and try to match your ride on my 14 Rally to see how your 1:1 keeps up, or I keep up 8)

The pow had to of been fantastic.

Who is planning on Saturday, during the snow storm, out at Swede? That snow is looking SWEET, and it will only get better.
