Impact Vests and Life Jackets

Post by Matixsnow »

I am trying to find some form of extra flotation on the water. Impact vest or a life jacket. I want something that is low profile that works well with a waist harness. I have been looking at NPX and Liquid Force. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check out the Neil Pryde PFD...purpose made for windsurfing, works great for kiting. Lowest profile you will find...

I second Mark on that one. That Neil Pride Vest is great. I never leave shore without it.

Speaking of safety.. what kind of helmet and size did you have eric? I tried that on awhile ago and it fit perfectly. I was going to order one.

I'll have to check it out when I get home. Hopefully it blows for the race on Sunday.

I use the Neil Pryde Vest also. Has a nice pocket for carrying stuff. Not too bulky. I use a seat harness so I'm not sure how this would work for waist, but it is called "high hook". I kite solo so much that I wear it almost every session. Saved my butt on some self rescues, when I got too tired/exhausted. I wear it for sailing also.

Call Philip at Inland Sea, he'll get you set up. Nice impact vests there also. Maybe Midwest carries Pryde, not sure.

I use the Mystic Force D3o vest and it is pretty decent. It also fits great under a waist harness.
