Great snow! I spent 3 hours on my 9.5 Frenzy this afternoon on my way back from working in Duluth. There is about 4-6 inches of soft snow over 20 inches of smooth ice. There are no bare spots!

The public access is on the Nertheast end of the lake with aplowed road on the ice. Park anywhere there is good wind.

I think I will be back up there this weekend. Only 1 hour 20 min. from St. Paul.

Mikey, you just said at least 3 favorite words.

If the clinic doesn't go off I'm there. Check out 3-4 inches of snow on Pelican http://www.downhaul.com/kites/031226/im ... ysGame.jpg

I will be at the Sturgeon Lake public access (or parked out on the lake) by 10:30 on Saturday. Turn left at the Red Oak Inn and follow the public access signs to the northeast end of the lake. Here are some maps of the area and lake.

There must be some way to get on the lake off 46 on the SE corner there. I'm sure there will be a few thousand snowmobilers up threre today!

Snowmobiles! Yikes! Thanks Brian. You just changed our minds.

We'll be in the middle of Lake Washingon Freeskating. No fishhouses in smoothest area & plenty of black ice.

I'm going. We had to cancel our clinic due to lack of snow in the Twin Cities so to I'm itching to get out no matter what. And if there is snow and a breeze I'm there.
