Kite Island on Minnetonka? It would be pretty cool to get a big group out there this year.

It's time to rock the Island!

Soooo looking forward to Sunday, I just hope that someone has generously plowed a road out there from the Whitezata beotch. I'm probably going to assess the drive out first and use Cottagewood as the backup - any info on driving conditions on Tonka would be much appreciated. Towing my little sedan out of the snowbank when you see me stuck on Sunday would be appreciated even more (I show my appreciation with beer).

Every forecast I see has the wind continuing to build...looks like we might be able to violate FAA airspace this weekend. Schweeeet!

SPEAKING OF STUCK, thanks to Keith & Rog for helping me get off the lake last week. I'll think twice before driving out again without 4wd. Looks like it is back to pulling out my gear in a sled, but I do need the exercise.

Hey - does anyone know if you can drive out to kite island, and if so, how is the snow? How about Wac?

I suppose the snow would be really good down on Cannon, and I think a NW would work. Its nice as there a hardly any ice fishing houses or traffic. Easy drive down 35W.

Yo

So I know this is not really related to any of the lakes being talked about here, but Calhoun is full of delicious pow pow. I was going for a walk like two days ago and it was full up. Cant wait to get some of those.
I am going to the Wayzata Chili Open today to get drunk on Tonka...what else you got better to do on a windless gray day.
I should have a Kite Island update a little later today.

Tonka is where its at if its outta the north at all tomorrow....they had about 2 feet for freshies.

Dont bring your sedans out on the lake, you need 4 wheel to get to the island.
See you there

If I have to drive as far west as Tonka, I might as well drive to Sandy, Utah. Mahto ( Grey bear ) in Dakotan. ( White Bear ) for dumb-ass Minnesotans. The bear was a black bear, not a polar bear. WBL is the place to kite. If you are part redskin.

While you guys are out riding flat lakes I will be out riding any of the numerous fields on the west side that have 2 feet of snow on them. There are so many to choose from its not even funny.

Sounds like there were a lot of love to go around today. Wac went off, Kite Island went off, Fields were going off, Max was hitting his back yard. All so good.

What a frickin awesome winter. Windy weekends and tons of snow. One of the best I can remember and we're only half way through Feb!

sweeeet.
