Medicine Lake Snow/Ice Cond 12-28-09

Tried to hit Medicine this AM. Didn't even roll the kite out. 1.5" of snowy crust is covering 5in of slush sitting on top the ice. The crush is too thin to support any weight. The slush will cling and freeze to anything is comes in contact with. Hopefully a long cold week will come along and penetrate through the insulating crust and freeze the slush layer solid. Unitl then, look else where.

Just down the road, Minnetonka is great. It's fast, there is excellent edge grip for boosting, and if you mess up the crust absorbs your impact.
