Xmas Day where?

Post by Ric »

Merry Christmas to all! Where are people going today? Is WBL safe to ride on? With today's NE winds, what is better, Bellaire or the Kowalski's bay(by the pavillion)?
have a good one

I have to stay on the West side of the Cities today...

Am thinking Calhoun - any updates on the ice thickness?

Any other recommendations for 12 - 3-ish?

Thanks,

I'm sorry. I was naughty.
It's all snow here in Minnetonka. I'm heading out to look at the lake now.

I guess I must have been naughty.
Yesterday I attempted a dawn patrol session at Calhoun. Not enough wind to get me moving even with the Machine.
Today I attempted to ride Smiths Bay bay (Arcola bridge). The snow survived the heat and the wind was strong and steady. I pumped up, attached lines, and was sitting on my tailgate putting my boots on when a plow came by and covered me in slush. Nice! Went to the cab to grab my dry golves and realized I had left them on my bumper at Swede lake the other night. Sweet! So, I put my soaked gloves on and headed out. When I was flipping my kite over I head a rip, then a hiss, and finally - kaboom. One of the strut seams failed and the bladder exploded. I took that as a sign from God and called it a day. I'm gussing it would have been nothing short of paralisis if I had pumped up the 14.

Merry Christmas!

sorry to hear about that Brian. May have been a sign that it probably wasn't your day to ride.

Glad to hear the snow is a bit better on the west side.

I had a good session on WBL in the cold mashed potatos. A bit of thigh burner for sure, but good to be out.

Hopefully this won't get too crusty when it gets cold.

merry christmas
