SATURDAY!

Where are people heading to besides Nokomis? I'm really excited to get out for
my first snow sesh but a little nervous about the ice. Maybe i'll check out Ramsey and
stay near the shore... :?

Nokomis is not good on a SE. Ramsey is the best spot I know of for Saturday. Sunday appears to be the windy one.

Does anyone know if the snow is bonded yet on Swede? Or if there is snow yet?

Hi Fellow kiters{
If you don't want to go as far west as ST.Boni. Check out spring park bay. See previous postings on heading out on Spring park bay. All those open holes shown south of Casco frooze ver last weekend and should be avoided. However All of spring park bay, Phelps and carmans have over 9 inches of ice. South of Casco should be avoided for another week or two. However allot of safe ice out their to ride. South and south west or south east wind will make the SPring Park boat Landing on CO road 15 West near Hennepin county water patrol a great place to park and get on the lake. The snow is well adheared to the ice. So snow boards or skiis will work great. I plan on kiting this area this week end.

Katie I was out on WBL from ramsey wed during the day. Things were good I stayed close to shore. Out by them rocks there was open water and then beyond was water I was by myself so I didn't take any unnecessary risks, had fun though. What time are you heading out ? I'll do ramsey again. 8) Mark L

I should be heading out there around 130 to get the rails in place to ride them on sunday. I will be parked on the road with the trailer since my truck is rear wheel drive and Ill never get out of the public access. I do have my sled with to drag the rails out. I currently have a small 8' box rail, a 10' up round rail, and the 16' "up" section of the big up flat rail. I was thinking of riding today after setting up but left all my gear at home since the wind forecast kinda fizzled.

The snow on swede was definatly bonded alot more then last tuesday. There are still patches without or with very little snow that you need to watch for but its rideable. The spots are probly 15-20% of the lake and are pretty random. I plan on being there saturday to setup the rail for the wind direction then riding them for awhile.

Thanks nathan I was looking for those pictures eariler but couldnt find them. The 8' rail is the 5th picture down its not setup spine like in the picture tho. The "up" from the up flat is half of the big rail with the slingshot flag hanging down on it. and the 10' is not featured in the pictures. I will get a shot of it and email it to you nathan.

I went out there this afternoon. The wind was light but I still had a blast freezing my face off . I spent a couple hrs getting kites in order so when there is wind I won't have to mess around. On the way out there I stopped by Extreme in Hopkins and talked to Peter. They had to close up shop I really liked that place. The Ice on swede was good there were fisherman all over with 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. And its actually not that bad of a drive. But sat I'm going to Ramsey Hope to see some familiar faces tomorrow. Seeya Mark L

Forecast has been downgraded significantly. This station gives an accurate reading for SE on Tonka. Not much to speak of at 10am. Bring the big ones if you go. http://www.loweprofile.com/wx/

Going out with the SA 19m at 11:00
