I'm keeping a close eye on the storms and hope we will be out there as well. Reddy should be the call, but Malmo would work as well. I just like hanging on the beach.
No bugs, the wind totally blew them away. When I got to Malmo at around 2, JRN, Terry D. and Terry (from Duluth) were all sitting in there cars, talking about going to Carlsona to have a beer and wait it out. It had to of been blowing 40+. I wasn't hearing any of that talk, and pumped up the 5 meter waroo. I didn't think I would ever need that kite, we bought it for Anna when I wanted to be on the 7. Went out for at least an hour, perfectly powered on the 5, then handed it off the Terry D, cus I wanted to try the 7. Just to compare. Pumped up the 7 and was powered to the gills for another 45 minutes, too much actually. Jim got out on his 7, Terry flew a 9 meter rebel (I don't know how). We saw a dark line coming from the SW, and decided to wait it out. All day, little rain clouds would drop some precip on our heads, but sometimes it was hard to tell if it was falling from the sky or just getting pulled off the waves. Multiple smoke on the water moments. The waves were huge and glassy, but the wind was more gusty then I have ever felt on Milly. I think it was all the little rain squalls coming through, disturbing the wind.
Totally crazy wind on Milly today, totally crazy. The most wind I have ever felt. More than The mother, more than that crazy Thanksgiving day at padre, totally crazy. I hope tomorrow delivers nice steady, consistant, even; any other synonyms for steady? That was crazy; fun, but crazy.
I should have went to Milly, I went to Lake Washington, same kind of wind as I am sure everyone had, crazy wind. The waves were sick. I had a great day its just better to have more company in a nuking weather, sketchy landing and launching's was a little wild at first but, turned into a really great day
Rick
Definitely crazy windy. Most wind I've kited in. That thanksgiving in padre was a close one though. Trial by fire of my new 7m! Mostly just survival kiting for the bit I was out on the water... but it was great!
