Madison Madness

Post by Chris B »

Boy did we score a session in Madison yesterday. The best snow and wind conditions I’ve seen since the first kite crossing. The day started off warm and a little slow. Winds where around 14-17 for most of the early afternoon. Then the cold front started to kick in around 2. Out of nowhere in started dumping snow. I’ve never been kiting with that much snow coming down. Within about 2 hours there was a fresh 2-3 inches of fast powder on the previous great base. I forgot to mention the 22 inches of snow Madison received on Tuesday/Wednesday. Anyway the wind started cranking up around a solid 23-28 with very little variation in it. The last 2 hours where amazing, completely lit on a 13 Fuel with fast deep snow that had an edge to boost 20+ feet. To cap it off Tighe, Katie, and myself had an awesome meal at a little Caribbean place. The only thing that could have been better was the ride home with Tighe freshening the air followed by the windows being rolled down when it was -15 below out! I kept waking up last night with cramps in my thighs from all the riding.

Amazing day  I've been fantasizing about a day like that forever. I have to say, It was alittle eerie riding in a complete white out. I hope we see a day like that before the season is over. Yum yummmm, the food at Jolly Bobs was delicious and the ride home...yea that was grueling

Man sounds like you guys had a great time! I really wanted to join you guys but had another thing going on which sucked so I left early. DAMN work. Sounds like you were able to get enough rides in for everyone that couldn't make it out. Thanks for making me regret working.

I'm glad you guys had a great time. Thanks for making the trek and sharing the stoke. Sorry we don't have any terrain. We will have to work that out this summer. I probably missed the best winds but I still had a great time.

Not to brag but we are supposed ot get another 2-6 inches tonight and there is no above freezing temps in the forecast. Hopefully we will get a repeat this weekend. So for those that missed the last one this could be your chance.

Cheers

Karl
