I needed that. What a great ride in the metro today. I went out to Medicine Lake and from a distance the lake didn't look as strong as I hoped. So I rigged the 8.4 loft (with a little xtra downhaul) and used my 150 liter Pacific. What a sweet rig.

I made it past a rather large wind shadow and once I hit the open water, BANG! harness locked in and I was planing instantly. WOW! This wind was more gnarly than I anticipated. Needless to say I was waaay overpowered, the wind had to be a solid 25mph with juicy rollers for all to enjoy.
I managed to stay in control with a little more effort than usual. This was my first session since the beginning on July! Oh it felt sooo good to get out in the wind and water again. after dialing in I was really loving it, overpowered is better then underpowered any day.

I raced this little cutter out there ripping it up, no competition for me, I let them get half way out and beat them to the other side of the lake with very little trouble. haha, who's faster now eh? As I was watching the little cutter make a quick turn upwind I got nailed by a monster wave while hanging low over the water, it felt like someone had punch me in the life vest. With the speed I had it didn't even phase my run and was very refreshing, I looked at my sail and it was dripping with water, what a great relief! A nice little dip with the cruise control on. ahhh, taking in the wind, water and wildlife, nothing beats it. Fall is in the air, it was getting cool as the sun proceeded to lower behind the trees and leaves were in the water. It was time to head in. Hears to another great sesh.

Green was solid too. Lots of pole boards and kites mixing it up.

A couple guys were able to make it out on mid 4s most used 5M I would guess. Me, I stuck with the fist sail I rigged 6.2 and switched boards once.

Thanks for the great sessions!

WBL rocked too. Classic late afternoon session there. Lots of friendly faces, fewer boats than expected, and wound up 12m kiting. Aaaaahhhhhhh!
