Wet Suit weather?

Post by Denis »

Is Waconia or WBL warm enough for a full body 4/3 wet suit? Sounds like Calhoun is warm enough, but it is much smaller, and we don't kite Calhoun anyway. I am itching to get in the water after SF a week ago.

My wife and daughter both sailed WBL in wet suits on Saturday, and they did fine. The air temp was so warm they didn't have any trouble. They were on big boards, so they spend most of their time out of the water, though. I don't know how much time a kiter spends swimming ...

Thanks for the info, John. I decided to test it out myself and went out for a 2 hour swin in an attempt to kite Waconia. I had no trouble at all with my 4/3 mil full body wet suit. About time. I was getting the image of my kiting board permanently burned in my eyes.

I also got to meet John Mooney out there. It's always good to meet new people. Thanks for the tips on patching my kite, John M.
