New Ozone Instinct water kite has hit the beach
Hey Everyone:
I have returned from Michigan to find my new Ozone Instinct sample on my doorstep.
Larry at Scuba Center has also received stock of this kite. He has them on the floor and ready to see.
I will be finishing up some last minute kayak business and we'll all unroll this kite at the gathering July 7th. We have had very good reviews but I'll be the first to admit I'm seeing it for the first time as well.
See you there

ET...stoked. If there's wind I want to get on that baby, looking forward to seeing the instinct.
Tom L has his contra 17m and I'm hoping to have Nancys new 14m Contra by the gathering, I'm sure Tighe will have the latest from Slingshot so there should be some nice new kite toys to see and try.
There'll be some wakeboard demos too.
Anyone know if theres some new windsurfing stuff we should get up there if we can ?.

Yea, I'd lose that one.
Good to hear from you. I notice the calmer the wind the quicker response on my e-mails etc. Fear not, though, it's going to rain like hell the minute I spread my kites on the grass to dry and refold.

Heyya Bob,
I hope to get down there at least once this summer. That is where my wind addiction began some 25 years ago. Would love to kite Mendota.
We've had a great spring as well. Some really big winds. Glad to hear you've had a good one. Sounded like you were due.
Hope you can make the trip to ride with us in early July, when we all gather together.

ozone instinct
I'm sure not many folks know me but I'm from Madison and have been living in the Twin Cities since 2000. I'm new to the kite scene. I managed to make things come together with my ozone Frenzy 7.5 rather late in the season. I've been kicked in the ass too many times by my lame-ass 2005 Rapture 15! I now have Ozone's latest 11-meter Instinct. I've flown it 2 times and it amazes me. The thing is almost as light as a regular foil! Seems like they tried to design a foil kite that could'nt sink. Rock me baby!
Hello ET
I have yet to meet you but will on the Malmo weekend. My name is Tom Grace I've worked for Fred Hartray for years with Flow snowboards. I just came back from Maui a few weeks ago and spoke with Todd in Flordia. Out in Maui I bought a 12m crossbow. I got back into kiting after a few year hiatus. The kiting tech is so much safer and the bow kites rock. I love my crossbow; however, I've done a chuck of reading reguarding the bridal mod to the crossbow. Have you done this? If so do you have the parts? I just wanted to pick your brain. Look forward to meeting you at Malmo.

hey Tom,
regarding the crossbow mod. the reason most do it is in lighter winds, the pulley configuration can create a little more bar pressure, but it's most noticeable on the 16m. if you ride powered up more on the 12m, you'll notice it less. i'd try it first for a while to see if it really bothers.
since you'll be rding the 12m in more winds, you may not notice it as much. i never did the mod at all on the 16m or 12m.

That is actually why I want to do it is for the light winds. I find myself tring to hold the bar powered in the lightwinds and my arms are getting worked. I'm currently thinking of some way of locking out the bar in the powered position for light winds. If I dont notice it in the heavy winds thats all the better. I actually love the kite the way it is with short lines and heavy winds. The thing rocks.
If your at the gathering look forward to meeting you.
