WBL still frozen

Post by Coach »

at last check, WBL was around 1/3 or more open. It should easily crack open complete by this weekend - at least better than 90%. It's probably not a good call for today, though. I'm thinking of heading to the river today.

The WBL lake cam (http://www.wbycsail.org/) is showing the Mahtomedi end of the lake still pretty covered with ice - very black ice - as of 7:45 this morning.

There seems to be a strip of open water stretching to the penninsula now, probably from the open area in the west end of the lake. (The WBL cam is in the east end of the lake, and can only see about 50% of the water - from the pen. east.)

If the wind clocks west enough, I'll be at Bellaire today for the WBL opener! :-)

I drove around the entire lake last night.
Belaire is probably the most open, but last night did not stretch all
the way to the penisula.

Ramsey is only open about 25 yards out, and as coach said
Mont. is pretty froze yet..

But not for long (yee hah)..

Heading to Waconia this morning.
