sailed waconia today

Post by davec »

Me and Adamh decided to brave the half frozen waters of waconia and give it a shot today. The wind was from the E-NE and seemed realy light on shore, we launched from the public beach and we were suprised at how much wind was actually out there in the middle. Moondog stopped by right before we went out and congradulated us on being the first out and wished us luck. Hope to see more of you out soon. Davec

Did you guys kite or windsurf? I was at Nancy's Landing for Brunch Sunday and it seemed very wind but it wasn't showing on the water. There wasn't any white caps at all but the trees and flags were blowing. I was itching to get out on the kite. Maybe next weekend.

We windsurfed. The wind definately seemed light on the water from shore. We schlogged out there about 100 yds and bam ther was wind and I had a good hour and half of non stop plaining before it got to late. I was on a 9.6 but if I had more time I would of rerigged a 7. I think launching a kite might have been dificult becuase of how bad the wind was right up by shore.
