Saturday is looking pretty windy. These warm temps will probably make local lakes a sloppy mess, but it might get warm enough to drain some of the water back through the ice. If that happens, we could have some fast conditions around here.
St. Croix should be sailable from Hudson (windsurfing folks - launching a kite down there would be interesting and for experts only) - especially after today. I will check it out again on my way home. If it gets as windy as experimental is predicting for tomorrow the Hudson Marina will work from SE to SW. We sailed there a few years ago when the gusts were blowing the shingles off the service buidling down by the boat launch.
That was a memorable day. Brian and I were huddled behind a tree because some of the gusts were so strong. Semi trucks were being blown over on 94. I can still hear the sound of ice chunks skittering under my board while blasting through the slush fully lit on a 4.0 sail.
