I swung by Sturgeon lake today and it has a good cover of crusty snow (2-3 inches). There are no bare spots except where roads were plowed. It is about 100 miles N on 35 from the cities, so a little bit of a drive, but the ride would be a lot better than in the cities I think.

I'm heading to Diamond lake when the wind comes up. It's in the NW section of the cities. Scott R. reported 4+ inches of snow last weekend

I think that Sturgeon has really thick ice. There are ice houses with trucks parked next to them everywhere.

I think if there is wind over the weekend I'll head to Sturgeon. Any one else up for the trip?
